of the Iowa State Fairgrounds
Directions to the Fairgrounds:
The 400-acre Iowa State Fairgrounds are
located 12 blocks east of I-235 on East University Avenue
in Des Moines.
From eastern Iowa, take advantage of the
Hwy. 65 South bypass. From I-80 take Exit 141, travel
south on Hwy. 65 to Exit 79 and head west on Hwy. 163
approximately three miles to the Fairgrounds.
Due to planned construction on I-235,
visitors coming from northern Iowa should click here
for information on how to reach the Fairgrounds.
From western Iowa, travel I-80 to I-235,
exit East University (Easton Blvd), follow the signs
to East University, and enter through the University
Avenue gate at East 33rd Street.
From southeastern Iowa, take Highway 163
or 44 to East University Avenue.
From southwestern Iowa, take I-35 or I-80,
or Highways 65 or 69.
